3 Must-Haves for Your Birth Plan
If we’re being honest, “birth plan” can sound a little intense, right? You might be thinking, Do I really need one? What if everything changes anyway?
Totally valid. Birth is unpredictable and doesn’t always go according to plan. But having a few key preferences figured out ahead of time can make a big difference when things start moving. Because of this, I like calling it your birth letter or birth preferences.
It’s not about mapping out every second and trying to control your birth.
But it IS about getting clear on what matters to you. That way, your support team knows how to show up for you, and you’re not left making decisions in the middle of a contraction thinking, “What are my other options again?” It’s also a great way to learn your options ahead of time so you feel a little less like, “Wait, what’s happening?” in the moment.
So I put together this free, simple guide: 3 Must-Haves for Your Birth Plan.
It’s not a full checklist of everything you need to decide before baby arrives. This guide breaks things down into the three things that really matter when writing your birth plan.
Whether you’re planning to go unmedicated, get the epidural, or still figuring it all out, this will help you feel a little more grounded going in.
