Birth Support

Having a birth doula has many benefits including: shorter labors, less use of pain medication, and a decreased risk of cesarean birth and other interventions. After working with dozens of families in the Twin Cities area, I’ve curated a wide range of tools to support all birth experiences, including: home births, birth center births, hospital births, vaginal deliveries, cesareans, VBACs, inductions and more.

Whether this is your first baby and you need guidance along the way, you’ve done this before and loved the experience, or you don’t want to repeat anything from a previous birth - you deserve to have an amazing birth experience! As your birth doula, I will make sure you feel strong, empowered, informed and supported.

Initial Consultation

Before we work together, let’s get to know each other! I like to chat with all of my potential clients before signing a contract. This complimentary meet-and-greet allows us to talk about what you’re looking for, get your questions answered, and determine if we are the right fit for each other. Get started by completing this online form. Consultations are held virtually on Zoom.

Prenatal Prep

Here’s where the fun starts! We will have several prenatal visits to explore your vision for your birth, build your birth preferences, practice hands-on labor techniques and comfort measures, and prepare your body, family and home for your upcoming birth and postpartum period.

You will also have 24/7 text/call support and receive access to my comprehensive online client resource gallery of worksheets and handouts that you can reference at anytime.

Labor & Birth Support

Beginning at 38 weeks gestation, I am on-call for you 24/7. During labor, I join you in your home or at your birth place when you need extra support.

Services during labor are individualized and tailored to you, and may include: physical, emotional, and logistical support; suggested positions for optimal fetal positioning and to ease discomfort; massage, heat/cold therapy, and other physical comforts; aromatherapy; guided and mindful breathing; maintaining and protecting a calm birth space; helping advocate for your birth preferences; showing your support person how to assist you with techniques; and more!

I will stay with you for 1-3 hours after delivery to assist with skin-to-skin, feeding cues, and lactation if you choose.

Postpartum Care

I will come to your home for postpartum visits within the first 12 weeks, depending when it is most helpful to you. The purpose of the postpartum visits are to check-in and help you transition home with a newborn. The visit may include: processing your birth experience, answering questions, assisting with newborn care and feeding, allowing you to sleep, eat, shower, etc., light cleaning and tidying, meal prep, and more.
